Shade
Shade — flying predator.
The Shade is a silent flying predator of the local wildwood — rarely seen, more often sensed: it glides over the treetops without a rustle and is gone before you can lift your head. It does not fling itself at people outright, but its presence is enough to make the wood no longer just a wood. For the villages on the edge of the wildwood it is a sign that the wild lives a life of its own and takes its own — proof that in the thicket someone is always watching.
