Stach

A herdsman from Holmford — big, slow, simple-hearted; he speaks in facts and counts, without ornament. When Bren goes into the forest, Stach is the only grown-up in the village who truly helps: he watches over the sick Doss and patches the town's passivity. A character written with dignity.
