breath — measure.
The smallest measure of time — one calm breath. With it you count the short moments when there is no clock at hand and no need for exactness: "count ten breaths", "in three breaths he was at the door". A breath is measured by anyone who breathes, so it is as good a measure by the stove as on the road.
