Nia — a healer in her own right, of Oreton.
Zora's stubborn, sharp-eyed pupil — Zora being the healer of Ardwick. She asks too much and at the wrong moments, but she asks well. She learns to measure before she pronounces; she notes down patterns of thinking in a hard-bound notebook.
She returns as a grown, steady healer practicing in Oreton, called in for the harder cases. She has sure, quiet hands and looks first at the wound, then straight after at the person. Under her jerkin, on a thong, she wears a cold dark stone — a keepsake from her mistress that does nothing at all.
