The innkeeper of Holmford, who runs the inn by the ford — the hub of the village's gossip and Bren's ally, who gives him a hearing when others make light of him. She is well-off enough that she needn't sell her shake-light — the only one in Holmford — to no one; she burns it through the worst night that Bren's pack lives through.
